Melinda Hartman Eitzen
Melinda Eitzen is a partner in the family law practice of McClure Duffee & Eitzen LLP, which serves clients in Dallas, Collin and surrounding counties. Her cases include multimillion dollar divorces, custody modifications, paternity cases for athletes, and premarital agreements.
Melinda is on the forefront of the collaborative law movement in Texas, having served as the chairwoman of the Collaborative Law Alliance of Collin County in 2006. In addition to presenting dynamic lectures on many family law issues and the practice of family law, she has lectured at the Collaborative Law Spring Retreat sponsored by the Collaborative Law Institute of Texas for the past two years.
Named a “Super Lawyer” by Texas Monthly Magazine in 2004-2006 and in 2009, Melinda has also been recognized as one of the “Best Lawyers Under 40 in Dallas” by D Magazine (2002) and is the immediate past President of the Plano Bar Association. She also has served as Director of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers (1998 Director of the Year) and the Texas Young Lawyers Association (2000).

Born in Washington, D.C. on February 14, 1967, Melinda received her undergraduate degree at Texas Christian University and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston in 1994. She was admitted to the Texas Bar that same year. Melinda is the recipient of numerous awards, particularly for her pro bono work and for teaching others how to do pro bono work.
She is the author of Pleadings and Decrees, Conforming Your Forms to the New Law and Creative Investigative Techniques: Uncovering the Negatives About Opposing Witnesses Without Asking Them, presented at the annual University of Houston Family Law Practice Seminar.
