Kelly McClure
Kelly McClure is a partner in the family law practice of McClure, Duffee & Eitzen LLP, which serves clients in Dallas, Collin and the surrounding counties. A board-certified Family Law Practitioner with more than 21 years of experience, Kelly handles matters such as divorce, modifications, pre- and post-marital agreements and paternity. She also is on the forefront of the collaborative law movement and is a frequent lecturer on family law issues and the practice of family law.
Kelly’s high energy, extensive knowledge and passion for family law lead the boutique firm in its dedication to providing creative solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual client. As 2006 president of the Family Law Section of the Dallas Bar Association, Kelly has led the Section’s efforts to reach its goal of increasing pro bono volunteerism and education to those less fortunate in her community.
When she first entered the legal field, Kelly practiced tax law. But after working on a few pro bono family law cases, she enjoyed the satisfaction of helping people with personal, rather than just financial, issues, and decided to change her focus. This background offers another dimension to her exceptional client service, as she can delve into the tax implications of a divorce and easily handle complex property cases. Kelly’s clients include high profile executives, professional athletes and even a few Hollywood celebrities.
Recognized as one of the “Best Family Lawyers in Dallas” for 2003 and 2005 by D Magazine, Kelly also was named an Outstanding Young Lawyer of Dallas (1992) and has received the Merrill L. Hartman Award (1999) and the Outstanding Young Women of America Award. She also has been named one of Texas Monthly’s “Texas Super Lawyers” for the last four years (2003-2006) and named in the “Top 50 Female Texas Super Lawyers” list for 2005 and 2006.
Her memberships include: Dallas Bar Association (Director, Family Law Section 1992-1997, 2000-Present); Family Law Section of the Collin County Bar Association; State Bar of Texas; Dallas Association of Young Lawyers (Director, 1987-1988); State Bar of Texas Grievance Committee (1992-1996); Attorneys Serving the Community (1991 to present); and the Junior League of Dallas.
Born in Rockford, Ill. on July 29, 1959, Kelly received her bachelor’s degree from Fairfield University in 1981 and her Juris Doctorate from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1984, where she was in the Delta Theta Phi (Dean 1983-84) fraternity. She was admitted to Texas Bar in 1984 and U.S. District Court, Northern, Southern, Western and Eastern Districts of Texas and U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit.
Kelly is married to Wade McClure, a partner in the business litigation firm of Gibson, McClure, Wallace & Daniels, LLP. The McClures met while studying law at Oxford University in England and began their careers in Dallas, where they live with their four sons.
